Amanda Kauffman It only took them 6 years, but Immolation are finally back and they sound reinvigorated. Between this and Hath, 2022 is shaping up to be a killer year for death metal. Favorite track: Noose Of Thorns.
Rumpel Vim

Rumpel Vim One of the few things for which I am grateful to the evangelical christian cult in which I was raised is the emergence of bands like Immolation in response. Every lyric, every piece of blasphemous album and stage art, every indignant riff, is a necessary and justified balance against the hateful, mindless, fear-driven mob that is modern christianity. Favorite track: When Halos Burn.
John Lisa

John Lisa First, the drumming is top tier. Real playing, human feel, but still swings within the blast and brutality. Borderline sludgey low end rumblings in the guitar/bass mix. Lyrically cynical as usual, but intelligent and progressive. My fave metal album so far this year.
